Trout Parade makes a splash

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The days are hot and the streams are low, but thousands of spectators paid little mind to the weather as the second annual Trout Parade offered a spectacle of color, costume and half-clad hoola-hoopers on June 10.

Organizer Gerard Ilaria said the arts festival, which took place throughout the day in the hamlet’s Renaissance Park, attracted more vendors than last year. The festival benefits art education programs at the Livingston Manor School District.

The colorful day is set to happen again next year, as parade organizers plan to continue expanding to please everyone in the community, Ilaria said.
