CHARLES H. BLACKMORE
HAWLEY, PA Charles H. Blackmore, a lifelong resident of Hawley, died on June 4, 2005 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale after a lengthy illness. He was 78.
The son of the late Ralph Blackmore and Edith James, he was born in Honesdale.
He was a retired self-employed excavation contractor and a veteran of the Army Air Corps having served in World War II.
A family statement said: Charlie attended the old Baisdenville School near Kimbles. During World War II his service with the Army Air Corps was stateside. He was a former Chief of Central Volunteer Fire Department and one of the three remaining charter members. He worked very hard to get the new Central Firehouse planned and built. He was a 50+-year Fire Policeman for Pike County and a 45+-year PA Forest Warden and received several WHIP awards. He was a member and trustee of the Pike County Fire Federation. Charlie is fondly remembered by some of todays grandparents in the area for when he took them on hayrides and to the old drive-in movie in Lake Ariel in the 1940s and 1950s. He was well loved and remembered for being willing to help people with anything that was needed. He loved to eat and go to various church and firehouse dinners and was the chauffeur for Trudy and her friends whom he loved to tease when he picked them up. He will surely be missed by them. He was also a trustee of Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kimbles, where he will be buried.
Blackmore will be survived by his wife of 38 years, Gertrude Trudy Blackmore of Hawley; three nieces, Shelly and her husband Keith Corey of Damascus, Cathy Miller of Beach Lake, and Mary and her husband Les Thomas of Prompton, NY; a nephew, Richard Miller of Beach Lake; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jane Miller and a nephew, Walter Miller.
Services were held on Wednesday, June 8 at Teeters East Chapel in Hawley with the Reverned Theodore Muller, visitation pastor from the Hawley United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kimbles.

JAMES S. BUCKLEY
YULAN, NY James S. Buckley, a longtime resident of Yulan, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2005 at Boca Raton Community Hospital. He was 96.
The son of the late Daniel and the late Bridget Commerford Buckley, he was born December 26, 1908 in Manhattan.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Eleanor Burke Buckley. He married Mary Harrington in 1983 and had a happy eleven-year union.
Buckley was a retired detective lieutenant on the New York City Fire Department. He was committed to his community and always a good sport. He was a member of the Yulan Fire Department in good standing for over 50 years; a member of the Elks Lodge No. 645 in Port Jervis and the Lions Club as well as a member and Sunday usher at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church.
In Florida, Buckley enjoyed playing golf with his sons and grandsons, where he was also an active member of the Christ Child Society of Boca Raton.
He is survived by two sons, James R. (Patricia) Buckley and Robert S. (Claudia) Buckley both of Boca Raton, FL; his grandchildren, Kris (Andrew) Sampson, Jodi Lynn (Taylor) Olsen, Michael Drew (Cyndi) Buckley, R.J. Buckley and Steven Buckley; his great-grandchildren, Vita Olsen, Kerry Olsen and James Bancroft Buckley; he is also survived by his youngest brother, Patrick (Mary) Buckley and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday, June 7 at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville followed by a Mass of Celebration at St. Anthonys of Padua RC Church with the Reverend Anthony Moore officiating.
Interment will be at St. Anthonys Cemetery in Eldred.

MARY C. KITTY KRELLER
BEACH LAKE, PA Mary C. Kitty Kreller, a resident of Beach Lake, died on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at home. She was 87.
The daughter of Mamie and Barney Cheshire, she was born May 25, 1918 in McAlpin, FL.
Kreller and her husband operated Dellwood Acres, a summer resort in Beach Lake for 34 years. She was a member of the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, its ladies aid and auxiliary as well as a member of the Tusten and Beach Lake Senior Citizens Clubs.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Kreller with whom she would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 16; one daughter, Belinda Beierlein and her husband James of Beach Lake; one son, William Kreller of Cape Cod, MA; one granddaughter, Kristen Beierlein; and one sister, Vera Lanier of Live Oak, FL.
She was predeceased by a brother, Bud Cheshire.
Cremation took place at the HG Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.
Services were held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home in Narrowsburg with the reverend Dr. Gordon Wightman officiating.
Interment of the remains will be in Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
LAWRENCE J. LARSSEN
HAWLEY, PA Lawrence J. Larssen, a resident of Hawley and a former resident of Brooklyn and Ozone Park, NY, died on June 1, 2005 at his home following an illness. He was 70.
The daughter of the late Lars Larssen and Catherine Lickenbach, he was born in Brooklyn, NY.
He worked for the safety and security department, Con Edison, NY until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Hawley.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary (Rogers) Larssen of Hawley; two sons, Daniel James of Kansas and Michael of Tennessee; a daughter, Elizabeth McKevitt of New York; one granddaughter; two sisters, Lorraine Connors and Rita Michael both of Florida.
Services were held on Monday, June 6 at the Nativity Roman Catholic Church.
Interment is in the St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
WILLIAM H. SCOTT
MONTGOMERY, NY William H. Scott, a resident of Montgomery and a longtime area resident, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 in Valley Hospital in New Jersey. He was 73.
The son of the late George A. Scott and Elsie Jane Rurke Scott, he was born February 4, 1932 in Middletown.
Scott was a retired navigator and pilot for Captain Airlines and also worked for Texitron repairing golf carts at all the golf courses. He served as a navigator in the Marines during the Korean conflict.
Scott is survived by his companion, Elizabeth Brentnall at home; a daughter, Donna Marie Henrickson of Narrowsburg; a son, William H. Scott Jr. of Owensboro, KY; daughters Barbara Ann Wichot and Elizabeth Brady, both of Wayne, NJ; sons Wayne Thomas Scot of North Haledon, NJ, Glenne Arthur Scott of Wayne, NJ and Christopher David Scott of Harrisburg, NC; daughter Victoria Elizabeth Minchin of Harrisburg, NC; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers George A. Scott Jr. of Nokomis, FL and Lawrence Scott of Callicoon; sisters Dorothy Senia of Stratford, CT and Florence Tremper of Circleville; several nieces and nephews; stepsons Norman and Alan Brentnall, both of Maybrook, Robert Brentnall of Concord, NC; stepdaughter Beth Ann McAdams of Lexington, KY.
Services were on Saturday, June 4 at the Overhister Funeral Home in Montgomery.
Interment is in the Brick Church Cemetery in Montgomery.
ROBERT WHITE
COCHECTON, NY Robert White, a resident of Cochecton and a lifetime area resident, died on Friday, June 3, 2005 at home. He was 65.
The son of the late Charles and Pearl Peck White, he was born September 23, 1939 in Cochecton.
White was a retired rural mail carrier and the founder of Reillys Ice Cream Parlor. He was a 45-year member of the Cochecton-Lake Huntington Fire Department, president of the fire department; a fire warden; town constable; president of the Cochecton Mens Club for over 40 years; director for the Cochecton Preservation Society; and a member of the Cochecton Presbyterian Church.
White is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hermann White, at home; two sons, Andrew and his companion Irene Ward of Cochecton and Robert, Jr. and his wife Marion of Manchester, MD; six granddaughters, Erin, April and Brittney White, Robin and Heather Lutz, and Jessica Harrington; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Campbell of Honesdale, PA and James White of Chenango Forks; two sisters, Minnie Labar of Waymart, PA and Mary Samson of Whitney Point; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey; a granddaughter, Kerri-Jo White; a sister, Betty Jane Campbell; and a brother, Harvey Campbell, Jr.
A service in celebration of Robert Whites life will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.
Cremation will take place at the Twin Tiers Cremtory in Endicott, NY.
