Pottery and collage merge at DVAA

NARROWSBURG, NY—A two-person exhibit of potter J. Ayla Maloney’s clay work and Karen Fedczuk’s collages will open Friday, June 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Delaware Arts Center Gallery, 37 Main Streeet.

Fedczuk uses the medium of collage to create abstract images that evoke the forms and tones of nature. She develops her image by an intuitive process, working with shapes and colors until she achieves compositional balance.

Maloney, a potter and founder of Honey Hill Pottery in Callicoon, NY, creates earthy, sensuous clay pots that echo ancient cultures. Current with the times (all dishwasher and microwave safe), her vessels are also timeless and gratify a modern viewer’s sense of touch.
