Refuse-to-lose attitude fuels Sullivan West’s best 3200 time as Bulldogs advance to state championships

KINGSTON, NY—Sullivan West’s Jamie Clifford is graduating this June but not before she takes her unquenchable drive and desire to the track at Cicero-North Syracuse High School on June 4 to run the anchor leg in the Bulldogs’ 3200 relay in the New York State Track and Field Championships. Clifford was there last year but fell in the open 800. She swore she would be back.

She’s a young woman of her word.

Semenetz caps off great week by capturing Section 9 title

KINGSTON, NY—It’s all coming together for Sullivan West’s Sean Semenetz as the serious year-round golfer, heading to Drexel University next fall, racked up two big wins in the space of three days.

On May 22, Semenetz won the Nike International Junior Golf Tour tournament stop at French Creek Golf Club in Elverson, PA by besting a field of 43 golfers with a 4-over par 146.

On May 23, Semenetz tied Brian Glavotsky of Washingtonville for the lead on day one of the Section 9 tournament at the Villa Roma.

Softball sectionals

Sectional loss to Ellenville can’t take luster off of Bulldogs’ season

ELLENVILLE, NY—You’d have to be pressed to find a more upbeat, positive coach than Sullivan West’s Mike Ellmauer. One of New York State’s senior statesman when it comes to coaching softball, ‘Elmo,’ as his team affectionately refers to him just completed his 24th season and despite a tough 8-1 loss to Ellenville in the Class B quarterfinals Ellmauer remained positive and enthusiastic.
