Trout parade will be a reel crowd pleaser
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY Rain or shine, the fish will march at the second annual Livingston Manor Trout Parade and Arts Festival on Saturday June 11 with all proceeds benefiting the music and arts programs at Livingston Manor Central School.
Last years parade and festival brought an estimated 2,000 people to the streamside hamlet and this years event promises to be even bigger.
The event begins at 10:00 a.m. with quilters, antiquers, artists, fly tyers and craftspeople in Renaissance Park accompanied by food vendors. At 11:00 a.m. DJ Paris will set the beat in Peez Leweezs outdoor beer garden.
Line up for the parade is at 12:00 noon at the Livingston Manor Central School.
The magic will begin at 1:00 p.m. when the parade steps off to the marching music of the Mountaintones, the Livingston Manor School Band, and tunes from the Forestburgh Playhouse players.
After 2:00 p.m. live music and the Forestburgh Playhouse Players will entertain from the Renaissance stage at Renaissance Park, just off Main Street followed by the awarding of prizes at 2:30 p.m.
Keeping spirits high will be the Livingston Manor Central School chorus, the Mountaintones, and acoustic guitarist Jim Stickler from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. And at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Livingstons Wines and Spirits offers a tasting of wines that pair with fish.
End the day with a free outdoor movie viewing of Tim Burtons Big Fish at CineParks at dusk.
