Callicoon tractor parade roars again

CALLICOON, NY — Rev up your tractors for the ninth annual Tractor Parade on Sunday, June 12 at 12:00 noon in Callicoon at the Delaware Youth Center.

Although the youth center suffered damage from the spring flooding, it will re-open in time for the tractor parade thanks to the generosity of the community. However, as the parade has grown tremendously and space remains a problem, the youth center asks that participants share only their select favorite tractors. There will not be a registration fee for tractors but donations will be gratefully accepted.

In the interest of safety, the following guidelines have been put into place:

• Only one person per open-seated tractor.

• Tractors must run on their own; no towing except in emergency.

• No skidders or race cars.

• No candy throwing as we are concerned that kids could run in front of a tractor.

Event registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Youth Center with Line-up on the Youth Center field. Thanks to the generosity of Richard Fertig of the Upper Delaware Campgrounds, rigs and trailers can be parked in designated areas of the campgrounds.
