Art imitates life, or vice-versa
Its funny how life imitates art sometimes; its supposed to be the other way around. Maybe its just that the two are so intertwined, that it all becomes a grand circle eventually, with us in the middle.

Recipes of the heart
Ive got a cake to make and since its for my sisters birthday, its got to be special. This provides the perfect excuse to ramble through my cookbook collection. I glance across the spines, lined up like little soldiers guarding secrets. The options are nearly overwhelming, but I know what Im after. Not fancy, not complex, not impressive works of art—I want one with heart.
Cookbooks are a bit like people. Some are aloof and distant, some so complicated we avoid them. Some are just too much, some, not enough. There are those whose appeal goes beyond their appearance, those who stir your imagination and those who carve a permanent place in your library, if not your life.
