Sullivan West girls tied by Monticello and remain unbeaten

KIAMESHA LAKE, NY In a week that saw Tiger Woods fail to make the cut for the first time after 142 straight matches, Sullivan Wests Lady Bulldogs nearly had their winning streak snapped as well. On May 12, the Lady Bulldogs held on to a tie with Monticello at the Concord Monster Golf course. Playing the front nine with a par of 35, the Bulldogs were paced by Nellie Norden, who shot a 45, and Melanie Kleiner, who posted a 48. Sabrina Reimer shot a 60 and Kate Fanning notched a 71.
Monticellos Brittany Morse and Alexis Brinkerhoff each posted a 50 while Meredith Levine and Gabby Median shot a 53 and a 56 respectively for the Panthers (8-2-1). Sullivan West remained unbeaten at 14-0-1.
The match capped off another successful week for the Lady Bulldogs, who defeated Washingtonville and Goshen at the Stony Ford golf course in Hamptonburgh, NY on May 11. Shooting on the back nine with a par of 36, Norden led her team again; this time with a 47. Kleiner came in with a 49 and Fanning had a 51 as Sullivan Wests score of 147 bested Goshens 160 and Washingtonvilles 197.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Roscoe 132-158 at Twin Village Golf Club in Roscoe that boasts a par of 32. Norden shot a 41, Kleiner a 42 and Reimer had a 49. Roscoes Kendra Harris posted a 47, Nicole Failla had a 54 and Kassie Brock shot a 57 for Roscoe (6-3, 6-2 OCIAA). The win boosted the Bulldogs record to 12-0, 10-O OCIAA).
On May 10, the Lady Bulldogs defeated a competitive team from Warwick 129 to 132 at the Villa Roma (par 35). Kleiner and Norden led the team with a game low 41 and Reimer shot a 47 as the Bulldogs record improved to 13-0.
