Local dance center students leap ahead

PORT JERVIS, NY — Six students from the dance center in Port Jervis were chosen from thousands that auditioned across the country to participate in world-renowned summer dance programs. Mary Wilson, Lisa Lombardo and Melissa Pisarri were accepted at the Rock School in Philadelphia. The Rock School is associated with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Adriana LiGreci will be attending the Pennsylvania Youth ballet’s summer intensive and Katherine Kreischer and Krista Slack will study at The American Academy of Ballet.

The dance center scholarship fund will help to cover the cost of the tuition for these programs. A bake sale will be held at the Delaware Valley Dance Center’s production of “Giselle” on June 4 and 5 at Port Jervis High School to help fund these scholarships.
