Experience a performance of epic proportions

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — Enjoy an evening of epic performance when Kenneth Cooper and a guest artist team up with composer Victoria Bond for “Forces of Nature,” a free evening of chamber music on Saturday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrews.

At “Forces of Nature” Cooper will perform an eclectic program including “Children’s Pieces” by Dmitri Kabalevsky arranged for harpsichord by Cooper, “Evening in Transylvania” by Béla Bartók, as well as Partita No. 3 in A minor by J.S. Bach, and works by Victoria Bond, Martin Peerson, François Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Antonio Soler.

Harpsichordist, pianist, musicologist and conductor Kenneth Cooper is one of the world’s leading specialists in the music of the 18th century. The possessor of a PhD in musicology from Columbia University, Kenneth Cooper is on the faculty there as well as at the Manhattan School of Music, where he is Chair of the Harpsichord Department and Director of the Baroque Aria Ensemble.

Composer and Conductor Victoria Bond has performed and recorded with the late Ray Charles, as well as with jazz greats Billy Taylor and Marian McPartland. Her second opera, “Mrs. Satan,” was performed by The New York City Opera as part of Showcasing American Composers. Her third opera, “A More Perfect Union,” was presented by The Center for Contemporary Opera at Symphony Space as part of the New York City Opera’s VOX 2004 and Friends. Her first opera, “Travels,” was produced by Opera Roanoke in Virginia and her children’s opera, “Everyone Is Good For Something,” was commissioned and performed by Louisville Stage One.
