Contra your cares away

CALLICOON, NY — Enjoy a sense of community, wonderful exercise and the feeling of joy at the Community Dance Club’s Contra Dance on Saturday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Delaware Youth Center.

Sponsored by the Braman Arts Conservatory, all dances will be taught, and caller Diane Hartzell will remind everyone of the moves throughout the night. As the dance progresses, partners will switch places with other pairs of dancers so that everyone eventually dances with everyone else as they move along the line. Music will be provided by local river band, “It Couldn’t Hoit,” featuring Dan Brinkerhoff, Roger Brinkerhorff and Jane Orcutt. The admission is $5 per person or $10 per family. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Dancers are asked to bring clean shoes to change into for dancing.
