By RICHARD A. ROSS

WEST POINT, NY — For the elder statesmen of the Monticello Gymnastics Club, the Region 7 meet is the season finale to months of practice and competition, which began in September. Kienan Garn and Jonathan Ross competed against the top Level 8 gymnasts from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia on April 10.

Holleder Center, West Point’s fine facility, was the venue for this year’s Region 7 meet. Last year the meet was situated at Parkettes Gymnastics in Allentown, PA. Ross and Garn have traveled as far as Maryland for Region 7 meets in past years.

Ross took sixth place in parallel bars, high bar and vault and finished 11th overall among the 16- to 18-year-old group.

Garn finished 17th among the 13- to 15-year-olds. Level 5 and 6 gymnasts from the Monticello team will compete in Lehigh, PA on April 23 to 24. The club is coached by Pedro Tweed.
