As the snow fades from the landscape marking an end to the long and dreary winter, the brilliant colors of area track and field uniforms begin to adorn high school tracks as area teams gear up for the outdoor track season.
Spring track is the culmination of the schools year-long running programs, which began with cross-country in the fall, continued into indoor track in the winter and now make their glorious emergence as the high point of the scholastic year-long running continuum.

Monticello Gymnastics Club team bound for regionals

ROCHESTER, NYIts been a long and grueling season of practice, conditioning and learning routines for the boys of the Monticello Gymnastics Club team, but the dividends paid off between March 18 and 20 at the New York State Boys Gymnastics Championships hosted by Penev Gymnastics of Rochester.
Gymnasts from all over New York State competed for top honors and the chance to advance to the upcoming seven state regionals. The full compliment of Monticellos gymnasts advanced to the Region 7 competition.

Federation basketball titles: the pinnacle of success

GLENS FALLS, NYWinners of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship in Class AA, Class A and Class B duked it out on March 20 with champions from New York Citys Public School Athletic League (PSAL), the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and the Association of Independent Schools in the Federation Championships, which represent the states ultimate titles. The games were held from March 18 to 20. The results were as follows:
Boys
Class AA: Niagra Falls (NYSPHAA) 68, Xaverian (CHSAA) 65
