Mind, body and soul workshop

CALLICOON, NY — The Braman Arts Conservatory will host a free workshop to benefit mind, body and soul on Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the conservatory. The afternoon will feature presentations and hands-on demonstrations of the Alexander Technique, intuitive healing, Reiki and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.

The Alexander Technique, training in postural habits, will be taught by Judith Feldman. Feldman is a former dancer and choreographer. She is a certified Alexander Technique teacher.

Intuitive Healing is a class that provides gentle hands-on treatment to promote well-being and prevent and eliminate illness. The class, taught by Mary Donaghy, an intuitive healer since 1984, will teach techniques on self-healing and the healing of others.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a form of bodywork that uses gentle, assisted yoga postures in a supportive individualized session. This form of yoga releases muscle tension and provides stress relief and deep relaxation. Teaching this class will be Susan Sullivan, certified Phoenix Rising Yoga therapy practitioner who has taught yoga and stress reduction for 15 years.

Reiki is a Japanese form of healing that involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to patient to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself. Teaching this class will be Hana Marritz, a shamanic practitioner and a Reiki Master who has studied with the Children of Light.
