What does the future hold for deer in Pennsylvania?
MILFORD, PA The future of white-tail deer in Pennsylvania, managing deer in residential communities, culling, habitat management and developing food plots will be the topics of discussion on Saturday, March 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Dingman Township firehouse.
Sponsored by the Pike County Branch of Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA), speakers will include Dr. Gary Alt, wildlife biologist retired from the PA Game Commission; Bryon Shissler, independent consultant and wildlife biologist; Neil Dougherty of North Country Whitetails; and Kip Adams, wildlife biologist and northeast regional director of QDMA.
Representatives from the Lake Naomi Club in Pocono Pines will discuss the deer herd culling operation they conducted in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
A sportsmen silent auction, raffles and cash prizes will take place throughout the event.
Admission is $15 per person and includes lunch. Seats are limited to the first 225 registered.
