Hendricks wins regional honor

MILFORD, PA — Rachel Hendricks is the vice-president of the Pike County Industrial Development Corporation, (PIDCO) a certified Pennsylvania Economic Developer and she started with PIDCO some 12 years ago as a temporary summer receptionist.

The Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal recently named Hendricks, 30, as one of the region’s top people in business under 40 years of age.

The Pike County Commissioners recognized her achievement at their February 9 meeting, where PIDCO board member Dave Wilson recognized her as a “critical part of economic development in the county.”

Hendricks is a married, Milford Township resident and Delaware Valley graduate, who learned her profession on the job. She credits former PIDCO Executive Director Gary Boam with her training, which continued in her service as office manager. She became a backup manager-in-training 18 months ago, prior to Boam’s departure from PIDCO. “There were very few on that list that didn’t go to college,” she said with some pride.
