Ice Tee Golf tournament and Chili-Wing Cook Off

LAKE WALLENPAUPACK, PA — The 17th annual Ice Tee Golf Tournament, to be presented by the Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Sunday, February 27 (ice conditions permitting) in conjunction with the Chamber’s third annual Chili/Wings Cook Off.

Both events will be based from Ehrhardt’s Waterfront. Should ice conditions not permit the tournament to take place on February 27, the cook off will still take place.

The Ice Tee Tournament is held each year on the frozen lake surface. Advance registration is suggested to ensure a tee time, with a “greens fees” donation of $15 per person. (Registration on the day of the event is $20 per person with tee times on an “as-available” basis.) Two 9-hole courses will be available for play beginning with morning tee times. The challenge level changes each year for this event depending on course layout. The scorecards depicting the course layout will be distributed on the day of the event as the interaction of snow and other weather-related variables influence the course right up to tournament time.

Participants are limited to 3 clubs (one of which must be a putter) and golfers and non-golfers alike are welcome to experience the tournament as well as the popular “Closest to Wally” driving contest.

Whether or not you are a golfer, the 3rd Annual Chili & Wings Cook Off is a perfect way to spend a winter’s day. Enter a favorite chili or secret wings recipe, sample other entries or be a judge. The Cook Off begins at 12:00 noon in the Ehrhardt’s banquet center overlooking the ice tee golf tournament. Chili and Wing entries may be from a business, organization or individual. Judging is by “People’s Choice” ballot to choose the winners in each category, and awards will be presented to the winners. Entry fees are $10 per each chili or wing recipe, and multiple entries are encouraged. The tasting and judging entry fee are also $10 and open to the public.
