Want to be in a movie?
NARROWSBURG, NY An open call for cast and crew to be in a short New York University student independent film will be held on Saturday, February 26 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the River Gallery on Main Street in Narrowsburg.
The original film, entitled A Night at the Opera, will be shot from March 24 through March 27 in Narrowsburg. The story is of a fictional small town newspaper editor who struggles with the decision whether to break a story that is a town-wide scandal or to help cover it up. Events span one night during an opera performance set in the Tusten Theatre.
A wide range of roles are available, including leads. Needed are two lead males over 35 years old, a female lead over 30 years old, and two male leads over 20 years old. A theater full of people will be needed for an evening scene at the theater.
There are also numerous crew positions available including wardrobe/make-up, camera, sound and lighting. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in the filmmaking process to learn how it is done.
The film will be directed by Zachary Stuart-Pontier, a junior at New York University, a graduate of Honesdale High School and a resident of Narrowsburg. Assisting in the casting will be Norman Duttweiler of the Forestburgh Playhouse.
