Want to be in a movie?

NARROWSBURG, NY — An open call for cast and crew to be in a short New York University student independent film will be held on Saturday, February 26 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the River Gallery on Main Street in Narrowsburg.

The original film, entitled “A Night at the Opera,” will be shot from March 24 through March 27 in Narrowsburg. The story is of a fictional small town newspaper editor who struggles with the decision whether to break a story that is a town-wide scandal or to help cover it up. Events span one night during an opera performance set in the Tusten Theatre.

A wide range of roles are available, including leads. Needed are two lead males over 35 years old, a female lead over 30 years old, and two male leads over 20 years old. A theater full of people will be needed for an evening scene at the theater.

There are also numerous crew positions available including wardrobe/make-up, camera, sound and lighting. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in the filmmaking process to learn how it is done.

The film will be directed by Zachary Stuart-Pontier, a junior at New York University, a graduate of Honesdale High School and a resident of Narrowsburg. Assisting in the casting will be Norman Duttweiler of the Forestburgh Playhouse.
