Equestrians receive year-end awards
ROSCOE, NY Sullivan County equestrians were presented year-end awards on November 20 at the holiday banquet and awards presentation at the Rockland House.
A beautiful championship ribbon and a championship trophy were awarded to the horse and rider that accrued the most points in the five competitions this year and a reserve ribbon was awarded to the runner-up.
Winners included: Heather Ackerman and Black Alexis Glo, Walk-Jog Champion; Nicole Blanton and Half Splash, Beginner Hunt Seat Reserve Champion; Sarah Blanton and Eyed Be Dynamite, Jr. English Reserve Champion, Jr. Western Reserve Champion, Youth Equitation High Point; Jessica Finch, Walk Jog Reserve Champion; Jennifer Green and Prince Showboy, Youth Gymkhana Reserve Champion; Lauren Harford and Repete Performance, Walk Trot Reserve Champion; Diana Hartling and Cotton Pillow, Open English Champion, Youth Gymkhana Champion; Carlye Hyde and Doc Kowalski, Open Gymkhana Champion; Carlye Hyde and My Mirandas Dandy, Open Gymkhana Reserve Champion; Taylor Lamerand and Lipton, PeeWee Champion; Cougar Macdowall and Just Jim, Leadline Reserve Champion; Julia Mariski and Last Resort, Child/ Adult Hunter Champion; Ashley Meadow and Hiland Nuggets Gold, Beginner Hunt Seat Champion; Jessi Moodey and James Bond, Walk Jog Gymkhana Reserve Champion, Walk Trot Champion; Eddie Peter Moran and Red Ripper, Walk Jog Gymkhana Champion; Sarah Nadeau and Swf Jaco, Leadline Champion; Betty OLeary and Tsadis Smooth Dude, Open Western Champion; Emily Nebzydowski and Two Timing Texan, Jr. English Champion, Jr. Western Champion, Pleasure High Point, Showmanship High Point; Joe Sherlock and Now or Never, Open Western Reserve Champion; and Katherine Truesdell and Dreams Come True, Child/Adult Hunter Reserve Hunter.
Also, special recognition was given to the Stone Wall Farms exhibitors that received awards at the state level through participation in the NYS Horse Councils Millennium Horse Medallion Program (NYSHC MHM), who host classes each year.
These classes allow the entrant to qualify for the NYS Fair finals and provide points and prize money to local show participants if entries warrant. Stone Wall Farms had over 100 entries in various MHM classes and the NYSHC awarded over $4000 in prize monies to show participants. Emily Nebzydoski and Two Timing Texan were the 2004 MHM Hunt Seat Pleasure High Point champion team. Sarah Blanton and Eyed Be Dynamite finished as champions in the 2004 MHM Western Pleasure high point race. From Woodbourne, NY, Carlye Hyde and Doc Kowalski took home the 2004 MHM High Point award in Western Barrels.
Stone Wall Farms 2005 show dates have been tentatively set for May 8, June 12, July 17, August 14 and October 2. The show committee is again planning to host the NYSHC MHM classes and will continue to host its gymkhana series.
