Captured in your mind and
MILANVILLE, PA There is no better place to learn to work with pottery than in the surroundings of original glaze paintings, sculpture architecture and art tile. ALl of this can be found in the Milanville studio of Anne and Ed Nocera. The Noceras will hold enriched pottery and art tile workshops through the month of February.
Beginning Tuesday, February 1 and Saturday, February 5, students will master the basic skills for making ceramic art and how to use the potters wheel. The Noceras emphasize how to conceptualize designs and use the natural qualities of clay, encouraging students to create dynamic art from their sketches, ideas in the mind or from simply following the instructors examples.
Ed Nocera, who worked as a terra cotta restoration specialist, explains that sculptured art tiles and decorative ceramic facades such as mosaics, murals, intricately patterned brickwork and terra cotta building ornamentation is art made with ingenuity and often as much emotion as a painting on canvas. The Noceras are lifelong potters and teachers who have fallen in love with all the ceramic arts.
Small class size allows instruction to be individualized. No prior experience is necessary and all materials and firing fees are included.
