Rocklin’s ‘Blues and American Roots’ opens at Déjà Vu

HONESDALE, PA—A show of John Rocklin’s up-close-and-personal photographs of blues and American Roots musicians will open at Café Déjà Vu with a reception on Saturday, January 22 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The café is located at 1139 Main Street.

Rocklin, a resident of Beach Lake, PA, captures candid images of famous and yet undiscovered musicians, both on and off the stage. His intimate portraits are often taken during personal moments in the lives of his favorite musicians.

The reception will include refreshments and some great music.

Winter weather promises snow and ice carnival

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY—As winter weather makes a late entrance into the area, the residents of Livingston Manor will celebrate. The weather may not favor hatless heads, but it does favor ice. On January 22 and 23, Livingston Manor will hold the 46th annual Rotary Ice Carnival. The carnival will feature Puerto Rican National Champion ice-skater Rohene Ward, dogsleds, snow sculptures, skating exhibitions and races.

‘And the music never stopped’

BEACH LAKE, PA—Filling and spilling out of the fire hall parking lot, cars lined Route 6 in Beach Lake on Saturday, January 15 as friends, relatives and complete strangers gathered to celebrate the life of Edwin J. “Taterbug” Tyler, a man who was anything but ordinary.

It was a cold night but the fire hall glowed with a warmth all its own as children, adults and seniors shuffled their way up the ice-covered path, carrying pots and pans in their arms and memories in their hearts.
