‘Finding Neverland’ at CineArt

CALLICOON, NY —CineArt will feature “Finding Neverland,” (PG) a tale inspired by events in the life of Scottish author James Mathew Barrie, the man behind “Peter Pan,” on Wednesday, January 19 through Friday, January 21 at 7:30; on Saturday, January 22 at 2:00 and 9:45 p.m.; and on Sunday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. Call the theater for the exact time of the Saturday evening showing. Admission is $6.50.

From the sheer thrills and adventurousness of childhood came Barrie’s most daring and renowned masterwork, “Peter Pan.” At first, his theatrical company is skeptical. Barrie begins rehearsals only to shock his actors with such unprecedented requests as asking them to fly across the stage, talk to fairies made out of light and don dog and crocodile costumes. Then, just as Barrie is ready to introduce the world to “Peter Pan,” a tragic twist of fate will make the writer and those he loves most understand just what it means to really believe.

Directed by Marc Forster, “Finding Neverland” features Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Dustin Hoffman and Julie Christie.

CineArt is co-sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and the Callicoon Theater. One dollar from each admission and a percentage of the profits benefit DVAA’s programs and services. The Callicoon Theater is located on Upper Main Street in Callicoon.

For more information call the theater’s 24-hour Movieline at 845/887-4460.
