Delaware water trail project invites public input
SHOHOLA, PA The Delaware River Greenway Partnership invites the public to an open house and discussion of the Delaware River Water Trail project, scheduled for Wednesday, January 12 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Shohola Township Municipal Building, located on Twin Lakes Road.
The open house will feature light refreshments and samples of water trail guides, and maps from around the region will be on display. A presentation and discussion of the water trail will follow.
The goal of the Delaware River Water Trail project is to provide recreational users with the tools to plan and enjoy safe and environmentally responsible day and overnight trips on the river. These tools include a cohesive system of signage, a revised set of the Delaware River Basin Commission recreational river maps, a water trail guide and an interactive website.
Input is being sought from river-related businesses, landowners and other interested parties on specific issues including river access, camping, safety and signage. This input will be used to guide the development of a Water Trail Concept Plan.
