Winter wonderland at Narrowsburg’s EagleFest

NARROWSBURG, NY — EagleFest 2005 will feature a winter wonderland with eagle art ice sculptures throughout the hamlet. Ice artisans Mark Crouthamel, Daniel Drake and Earl Covington of Sculted IceWorks in Tafton, PA will be creating art from 300-pound blocks of ice.

Mark Crouthamel, the owner of Sculpted Ice Works, was introduced to the art of ice carving though his culinary training at Johnson and Wales. He has been carving for 10 years since and is a member of the National Ice Carving Association. He has been carving ice full time for over 5 years.

Daniel Drake learned about the art of ice carving at Sculpted Ice Works. He now works full time as commercial ice sales manager and ice carver and is a member of the National Ice Carving Association.

Earl Covington is the owner of Ice Art, Inc., of Spring Valley, NY. A graduate of Johnson and Wales, he worked as in the culinary field before beginning his career in ice sculpting. He is a member of the National Ice Carving association and has been ice carving for 15 years.

In addition, Tom Holmes returnssculpt ice at EagleFest. Holmes is a sculptor, musician, instrument builder and designer. Icing his work and natural landscape formations has become one of his favorite winter activities. He is a member of the “The Artery” in Milford, PA and he produced Milford’s first ice work last year.
