CineArt to feature ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’

CALLICOON, NY — An on-the-road venture, Kerouac style film, “The Motorcycle Diaries,” based in part on the diaries of Che Guevara, will be shown Wednesday, December 8 through Sunday, December 12 at the Callicoon Theater.

This cinematic journey is a trek of personal transformation, the coming-of-maturity of two young, idealistic men who traverse South America.

Along back roads and through uncharted areas, hardships test their personal mettle.

Screenwriter José Rivera’s distillation of the books upon which the film is based is succinct and psychologically illuminating. Energetically directed by Walter Salles, “The Motorcycle Diaries” is a smartly scoped story of great personal growth and transformation.

“The Motocycle Diaries” will be shown from December 8 through December 12. Show times are Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 and 10:00 p.m., and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Admission is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children.
