Antique store opens with china restoration specialist

HAWLEY, PA — The Hawley Antique Exchange, located on Route 6 in Hawley, will hold its annual Thanksgiving open house on Friday, November 26 through Sunday, November 28. This year, the open house will feature china restoration specialist and artist, Louis A. Pirrello. Demonstrations will be held Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Pirrello provides quality restoration of and personalized attention to fine porcelain and china, working with each client on an individual basis. The condition of each item is unique and each is personally reviewed to provide an accurate assessment of the work required to restore the item. This allows for the provision of different levels of service to meet the needs of clients. Repairs can range from a professional mend to a complete restoration.

Pirrello also works on a variety of mediums, some of which include early stoneware, chalkware, pottery, ivory and jade and the restoration of items with unique glazes such as Flow Blue and Majolica. If the piece is incomplete, Pirrello can sculpt and make the missing parts to complete the restoration of the piece.
