Democrats, Republicans say campaign signs were stolen
HONESDALE, PA Democratic Party leaders Maurice Meagher and Jet Mermell, shown to the right, say they have the names of over 20 Democrats whose Kerry/Edwards campaign signs were stolen or defaced.
It seems like a systematic approach is being followed, Meagher said. Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. for some weeks now, signs have been disappearing or knocked over in Honesdale.
Bob Sohusky, a Republican and a resident of the Honesdale area, said two out of three of his Bush/Cheney signs were stolen one night last week.
And Harry Forbes, Pike County Commissioner, said many Bush/Cheney signs were being torn down.
State and local police are investigating the apparent thefts.
