Racing ‘Rally New York’ ends in Tusten

MONTICELLO, NY — Sports cars and compact sedans will be revving their engines for 2004’s Rally New York USA on Saturday, November 6. The annual rally puts cars against the clock in a series of 12 races for the best time. The race boasts 65 miles of track with including dirt/gravel and paved roads.

The rally headquarters and ceremonial start and finish will be at Mr. Willy’s restaurant in Monticello. The race stages will be located in the Town of Tusten, NY.

Spectators can view the race for free from three locations. Spectator stations for viewing of races will be set up at “four corners” intersection (where Blind Pond road and Dexheimer road intersect) and the intersection of Mahls Pond road and the Cochecton Turnpike. The courses cross through both of these areas four times respectively during the course of the day. A third spectator area will be set up at Landers campground in Narrowsburg, NY, which acts as a central service area for cars between races. Spectators will get the chance to see the cars close up and speak with the drivers.

Registration of competitors, technical inspection of competition vehicles and optional reconnaissance will be on Friday, November 5, early registration will take place Thursday, November 4, at 10:00 p.m.

Rally New York USA 2004 is the final round of the National Auto Sport Association Eastern States Rally Championship. The year-end Championship awards ceremony and dinner party will take place after the rally.
