Liberty Free Theatre to explore differences

LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Free Theatre invites the public to a series of free productions, featuring “Catastrophe” by Samuel Beckett and “Vivien” by Percy Granger.

Performances will be Friday, October 29; Saturday, October 30; Sunday, October 31; Saturday, November 6; Sunday, November 7; Friday, November 12; Saturday, November 13 and Sunday, November 14. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are suggested.

“Catastrophe,” by Nobel Prize winner Samuel Beckett, was written as homage to Vaclav Havel, the Czech dissident poet who later became president of the Czech Republic.

“Vivien” is the story of a troubled man named Paul who travels across the country to visit his father, who was committed to a mental institution twenty-five years before.

Play scenery will feature paintings by Shirley Kaplan of NYC and sculptures by Robert Friedman of Long Eddy and NYC.
