Homecoming game supports troops

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — In lieu of admission, Sullivan West School is organizing a donation drive for toops in Afghanistan and Iraq at their homecoming game on October 15, against Tri Valley. Donations should include food items, personal care products, or leisure items which include crossword books, magazines, books, DVDs, music CDs, pens, writing paper, greeting cards and playing cards.Food items should not include pork products, chocolates, or homemade goodies. Examples of acceptable donations include drink mixes, canned food, crackers and chips in hard canisters, fruit in pop-top cans, beef jerky, hard candy, dried fruit, cookies, instant oatmeal packets or soup packets, coffee, tea, cocoa, sugar, and creamer packets.Personal care items include sample size soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, tissues, deodorant, nonmedicated eye drops, and black tube socks.
