JAMES JOSEPH FIORIO, JR
HAWLEY, PA James Joseph Fiorio, Jr., a 12-year resident of Hawley who formerly resided in Dumont, NJ, died September 17, 2004 at Julia Ribaudo Senior Care Center in Lake Ariel, PA. He was 75.
The son of the late Mildred Lancaster and James J. Fiorio, Sr., he was born in Buchanan, NY.
He was account manager for NY Central Railroad. He belonged to the Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Hawley and was a life member of the Elks Lodge #744 in Peekskill, NY.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (Mortensen) Fiorio at home; his sons, James J., III of La Grande, NY and Robert B. of Van Cortlandt Manor, NY; stepson, David Lage of Morristown, NJ; stepdaughter, Erica Higgins of Stroudsburg, PA; sister, Doris Sacher of New Port Richie, FL; and nine grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Teeters Funeral Chapel, Hawley, PA.
LEONARD D. GUCCINI
GREENTOWN, PA Leonard D. Guccini, lifelong resident of Greentown, PA, died September 18, 2004 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. He was 82.
The son of the late Naldo Gucini and Edith Ceccoli, he was born in Scranton, PA.
He was manager at White Beauty View. He was in the Coast Guard in World War II and was a member of the Tafton Fire Company. He was a member of St. Veronicas Roman Catholic Church in Paupack.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Scheller) Gucccini at home; daughters, Laura Engel of Goshen, NY and Virginia Emerson of Lumberton, NJ; sons, Leonard, Jr. at home and David of Greentown; daughter, Angelia Sandercock of Dalton; brother, Leroy of Greentown; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Vincent.
A Funeral Mass was held on September 20 at St. Veronicas Roman Catholic Church in Paupack with the Rev. William B. Healey, Pastor, officiating.
Interment was in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.

MARLENE A. KNIGHT
PORT JERVIS, NY Marlene A. Knight, a cafeteria worker for the Port Jervis school system and lifelong area resident, died September 17, 2004 at the Milford Senior Care Center in Milford, PA. She was 66.
The daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Stewart Joergle, she was born on January 7, 1938 in Liberty.
She was a member of the Jeffersonville First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband James L. Knight at home; a daughter, Susan Brown and her husband Lenny of Glen Spey; her son, Richard and his wife Donna of Matamoras, PA; a brother Warren Joergle and his wife Dolores of Port Jervis; four grandchildren, Kristina Brown, Lisa Waiau, Heather Quinn and her husband Jeff, Amanda Kranik and her husband Robert; six great-grandchildren, Marcus, Derek, Meagan, Steven, Colin and Brianna; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends called on September 20 at Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home in Port Jervis.
Private services were held on September 21 at the funeral home, the Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Interment was private.

ROSEY S LACOUR
SHOHOLA, PA Rosey S. LaCour of Shohola, PA died at home on September 15, 2004. She was 81.
The daughter of Eli and Anna (Medley) Svatich, she was born on May 8, 1923 in DesMoines, IA. She was the widow of Robert C. LaCour who died in 1985.
Prior to 1979 she resided in Edison, NY where she retired as an office administrator for the Thomas A. Edison Council, Boy Scouts of America. She was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Shohola Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a charter member of the Checkered Flag Fan Racing Club and a member of the Eastern Old Timers Racing Fan Club. She was also very active in many church organizations in PA and NY including The Busy Fingers Crafts Club.
Survivors include a son, Robert and his wife Margaret; and one grandchild, Dana Marie of North Brunswick, NJ.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Jacobi Lutheran Church, Route 434 in Shohola, PA on September 25 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Nilsen officiating.

ISABEL RUTH VAN PATTEN
MILFORD, PA Isabel Ruth Van Patten, a retired Domestic Relations Officer for the Pike County Probation Department in Milford and a lifelong resident of the area, died September 15, 2004 at her home in Milford. She was 79.
The second daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Barkley Fenner, she was born December 9, 1924 in Matamoras, PA.
She was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church; she was a graduate of Port Jervis High School and a certified graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School of New York.
Survivors include her husband, John Walling Van Patten at home; three sons, John Stephen of Guadelajara, Mexico, Brian James of Milford and Jason Barkley of Glen Spey, NY; and one grandson Aren Barkley of Pocono Woodland Lakes.
She was predeceased by her sister, Rose E. Ballas in May 2002.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Jervis, NY.
