One of only 1,200 nationwide to be called ‘Class of 2008’

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Midshipman Ryan Zeiler recently completed an intense Plebe Summer at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. This demanding, fast-paced training begins four years of preparation for the commissioning as Navy or Marine Corps officers.

During Plebe Summer, the new midshipmen rapidly assimilate basic skills in seamanship, navigation, infantry drill, shooting pistols and rifles and sailing, as well as enduring rigorous daily physical conditioning. Midshipmen receive a bachelor of science degree upon completion of their training at the Naval Academy.

Midshipman Zeiler was one of only six in his company to achieve the “Physical Readiness” distinction in July. He also qualified “ Expert” and “Sharpshooter” with rifle and handgun proficiency.
