Britain’s R & B star James Hunter to perform

CALLICOON CENTER, NY — WJFF Radio Catskill (90.5 FM) will welcome British rhythm & blues star James Hunter as he gives a sneak preview of his new album, “People Gonna Talk,” on Saturday, September 25 at 9:00 p.m. The concert will be held in the Clubhouse of The Hills Country Inn.

Hunter’s vocal and guitar performances are infectious, and his musical style harkens back to the days of classic 1950s and early 1960s R&B with a fresh sound and timeless quality inherent in early R&B innovators like Sam Cooke, Bobby Bland and Ray Charles. The band features James on guitar and vocals, along with longtime cohorts Damian Hand on tenor, Lee Badau on baritone, Jason Wilson on double bass, Jonathan Lee on drums and newcomer, Jared Elioseff on organ.

WJFF is a non-commercial, hydro-powered public radio station that has been bringing national and community programming to the airwaves for almost 15 years. Concert tickets cost $12 at the door, and proceeds will benefit the community radio station. WJFF depends upon fundraising events such as this concert for a large part of its annual revenue.
