WALLACE “WALLY” WILSON FISHER

PORT JERVIS, NY — Wallace “Wally” Wilson Fisher, longtime resident of Eldred, died July 29, 2004 at Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was 88.

The son of Charles Wilson Fisher, who served in the Spanish American War, and Harriet Lester Fisher, he was born April 13, 1916 in Manhattan, NY.

He married Frances Wondrak on June 25, 1939 and recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.

He was well known in his community for his charitable works. He was an active member and regular volunteer at AARP, Highland Seniors and Lumberland Seniors. He served three and a half years in the Army with the Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Tusten-Highland VFW Post #6427.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; many nieces and nephews and close and dear friends, especially Patty and Bob Orlando. He was predeceased by his sons, Wallace and Kenneth.

A family statement reads, “He was a devoted and loving husband, a helpful and caring neighbor and will be greatly missed.”

Friends called on July 30 at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville.

Funeral services were held on July 31 at the funeral home.

Interment took place on July 31 in Pine Lawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.

JACK THOMAS ROQUE

MILFORD, PA — Jack Thomas Roque, a resident of Monroe, NY and a letter carrier for the US Post Office in New York, NY, died July 31, 2004 in Milford, PA. He was 68.

The son of Manuel Roque and Jennie Tama Roque, he was born August 3, 1935 in New York, NY.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene J. Nestman Roque of Monroe; son, Jack Thomas of Norwich; three daughters, Elizabeth Roque-Gaffney of Florham Park, NJ, Christine Kincade of Monroe and Felicia Kincade of Shohola, PA; two sisters, Joyce Bufano of Claryville and Jeannett Thompson of Middletown; nine grandchildren, Steven Kincade, Thomas Kincade, Myles Kincade, Eamonn Gaffney, Shannon Kincade, Kelly Gaffney, Tyler Kincade, Emily Kincade, Julian Roque; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends called on August 3 at Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen, NY.

Funeral services were held on August 4 at the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Goshen, NY.

Interment was in Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills, NY.
