HONESDALE, PA — The 142nd Wayne County Fair will be held August 6 through August 14 at the fairgrounds located on Route 191 north of Honesdale. Tickets cost $7 and include free parking, most shows and entertainment, midway rides and more.

• Country music artist, Aaron Tippin will perform at the fair on Saturday, August 14 at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. His hard-edged twang is one of the more distinctive sounds in today’s line up of country music artists. Hits like “ There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With the Radio,” “Working Man’s PhD,” and “Kiss This” have earned Tippin a solid following and have established his identity in an ever-changing country scene.

Tippin’s career was launched under a banner of patriotism when his debut single, “You’ve Got To Stand For Something” reached the top ten in 1991 and became an anthem for a nation embarked in the conflict of Desert Storm.

Tickets can be purchased at waynecountyfair.com or Dirlam Brothers Lumber on Sunrise Avenue or call 570/253-5486.

• The Poets, featuring Frankie and the Corvettes, return to the stage with their 50s dance show on Wednesday, August 11 at 8:00 p.m. The six Poets have been entertaining for the past 30 years and have appeared with The Four Seasons, The Righteous Brothers, Dion, The Monkees, Tina Turner and Neil Sedaka.
