Dogs on catwalk, what a tail

BARRYVILLE, NY — The principal issue was canine haberdashery last Saturday at the first annual “PET-apalooza” at the Spring House Commons.

A horse, a bull python and a nervous looking hamster joined more than a dozen dog owners in the fashion show, complete with a models’ catwalk… or dogwalk.

The afternoon also featured a pet-owner look-alike contest and a competition for “best trick.” The horse named Memphis never really completed the handshake he was asked for, but won anyway.

It was all for good cause, as the entry fees amounting to some $300 went to the Pike County Humane Society.
