KATHY SUSANNE AMBROZEVITCH
ELKTON, MD Kathy Susanne Ambrozevitch, of Elkton, MD, a registered nurse for Christiana Care in Wilmington, Delaware and former resident of the Narrowsburg area, died July 7, 2004 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. She was 48.
The daughter of the late Edward and Clara Lillie Kerbs, she was born April 8, 1956 in Beacon, NY.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Edward, at home; two sons, David Scott and Brad Edward and several nieces and nephews.
Friends called on July 13 and 14 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg, NY.
Funeral services were held on July 14 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Narrowsburg, NY, with the Rev. Phyllis Haynes officiating.
Interment was in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.

THOMAS CHARLES
MONGAUP VALLEY, NY Thomas Charles of Mongaup Valley died July 4, 2004.
He was a sales agent for McKean Real Estate, White Lake, NY. He was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1921.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he was an AAC pilot in World War II and was retired from the French engineering firm Technip.
Survivors include his wife, Janet de Faria; his daughter, Janet Charles Edahl; two sons, Jon and Jeffrey, a brother William; and grandchildren, Rebecca and Eric Charles, and Emily Edahl.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 15. For information call 845/583-5215.
RICHARD CRON
DAMASCUS, PA Richard Cron died June 28, 2004 at home. He was 65.
The son of the late Harry Samuel Cron and Maggie Hinkley, he was born May 12, 1939 in Lookout.
He was a member of the National Guard for several years. He was employed as an equipment operator for several companies before retiring from Bed Rock Quarries. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding ATVs and snowmobiles.
In addition to his wife, Joan M. Hansen, whom he married on May 31,1963, other survivors include a son, Vernon Michael Hansen and his wife Connie of Archbald; grandchildren, April Hansen, and Peter Hansen and his wife, Melanie; a brother, Richard and his wife Helen of Cherry Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory at Salem.
AARON N. DAVIS, JR.
HURLEYVILLE, NY Aaron N. Davis, Jr. died July 5, 2004 at home after an extended illness. He was 62.
The son of Aaron Nathaniel Davis, Sr. and Betty Hobart, he was born January 25, 1942 in Hurleyville, NY.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Army. He volunteered many years for the Long Eddy Hose Fire Company as a devoted member, president and commissioner. He was also a member of the Sullivan County Fire Police and Sullivan County Fire Prevention. He went to local schools and spoke about fire prevention and against the dangers of tobacco use.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Dawn D. Davis; his children, Esther L., Melinda A. Jahn and her husband Thomas, Erica Meade and Michelle Gonclaves and her husband Jose; two grandchildren, Nathasha and Jose Gonclaves and one great-grandchild, Gemael J. Wallace. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Alice Johnston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including Mary and Bruce VanPelt, Sarah Vacca, John and Theresa Gillow, Robert and Rosie Gillow, Karl and Carol Gillow and Paul and Rhonda Gillow.
His brothers and sisters include Jean Colton, Francis (deceased), Victor and his wife Janet, Sarah Jane Vale, Linda (deceased), Sylvia Boyles, Stevie Boyles, Robert Boyles and his wife Theresa and Ricky Boyles; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends called on July 7 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon.
Funeral services were held on July 8 at the funeral home.
Interment was in Halsey Cemetery, Long Eddy.

BETTY FARR
BEACH LAKE, PA Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Farr died June 9, 2004. She was 86.
The daughter of Anna Longstreet and Jesse Davison, she was born September 29, 1917 in Chinchilla.
She graduated from Scranton Central High School and Syracuse University where she majored in English and minored in drama. While she was at the university, she directed and acted in plays. She was a lifelong member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Soon after college, she became drama director of the Lansdowne Womens Club where she directed and acted in plays. Later, she completed her masters degree in library science at the University of Virginia and worked as a childrens librarian in Virginia and Maryland.
She and her husband were married on April 27, 1940 by her great-uncle, Admiral Sydney Key Evans, who retired as chief chaplain of the Navy.
She was a member of the Christian Science Church, where she was a reader and an active member of various branch churches in the U.S. and France.
Because of her husbands career in the FBI, they lived in many states, including Oklahoma, California, Iowa, Maryland and Virginia. In addition, they lived almost three years in France. Her husband was assistant legal attaché at the American Embassy in France, where she was active in the Embassy wives club.
Retirement brought them back to Beach Lake. She did substitute teaching at Beach Lake Elementary School and the Honesdale School for several years. She was treasurer and president of the Beach Lake Fire Company Womens Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jessie F. Farr at home; a daughter, Lee Anne Farr Geiger; a son, Jesse Edward; and three grandchildren, Michelle and Elizabeth Geiger and Jessa.
A memorial service will be held on August 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Beach Lake Methodist Church.

RALPH MILLER
SCRANTON, PA Ralph Miller of Beach Lake, a retired guard for Farview and lifelong resident of the area, died June 22, 2004 at Community Medical Center in Scranton. He was 79.
The son of Henry and Mable Wood Miller, he was born November 4, 1924 in Welcome Lake.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Narrowsburg United Methodist Church, VFW of Peckville and a former member of Welcome Lake Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Dorothea Banks; two sons, Gary of Welcome Lake and Stephen of Clarks Summit; one daughter, Susan Miszler and her husband Edward of Hawley; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by six brothers, Delivan, Vincent, Ernest, Enos, Fred and Alfred, and three sisters, Ethel Beardsly, Bernice Stoesser and Grace Wood.
Cremation took place at HG Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Interment will be in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Texas Township, at the convenience of the family.

DOROTHY B. SULZBACH
PORT JERVIS, NY Dorothy B. Sulzbach of Highland Lake, a retired Eldred School teacher and librarian for 35 years and longtime resident of the area, died July 11, 2004 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was 91.
The daughter of the late Harry and Edith Atty Barker, she was born September 3, 1912 in Broadalbin, NJ.
She was the widow of the late Harry C. Sulzbach who died May 7, 1979.
She was a member of St. Anns Roman Catholic Church, Shohola, PA and NYS Retired Teachers Association. She was also a former trustee at the Sunshine Hall Free Library, former Eldred School Board Member and former member of the Highland Lake Fire Department Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Peter W. and his wife Elaine of Highland Lake; three grandchildren, Sean and his wife Tami of Brick, NJ, Heather Tamol and her husband Ron of Charlotte, NC and Trevor of Ft. Myers, FL; and three great-grandchildren, Sean Michael Sulzbach and Nicole and Blaise Tamol.
Friends called on July 14 at Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 15 with a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 a. m. in St. Anns Roman Catholic Church, Shohola, PA with the Rev. Thomas J. Petro officiating.
Interment will be in Montoza Cemetery, Eldred.

RUBY C. WALTER
PORT JERVIS, NY Ruby C. Walter, a homemaker, died July 9, 2004 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. She was 63.
The daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Kiser Adkins, she was born in Carrie, VA.
Survivors include her sisters, Doris Hallock and her husband Harold of Pond Eddy, Louella Cortes of Port Jervis, Alma Humphrey of Phillipsburg, NJ; one brother, Grady Adkins of Big Rock, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Nancy VonderHorst will officiate. Interment will be private.
