Kids and cars adorn Lake Huntington Fire fundraiser

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — The array of shiny antique roadsters, flashy Corvettes, nifty old pick-ups and classic Mustangs adorned the Fireman’s Field in Lake Huntington on July 11 as part of the sixth annual car show, sponsored by the Lake Huntington Fire Company.

With the strains of great music coming from the D.J.s and the luscious smell of chicken barbecuing, folks gathered in the sunshine or the shade of the pavilion to chat, eat and peruse the flea market.

While this was the fifteenth year for the flea market and barbecue, word has spread about the car show, which featured a number of new entries this year in addition to several popular ones from last year.

Kids spent the day on the playground, ogling the cars, filling up on great food and enjoying a much-needed respite from school.

Judging from the large number of smiling faces, the event was, as usual, a stunning success.
