CATHERINE “DOTTY” BLAUT

SARASOTA, FL — Catherine “Dottie” Blaut, of Barryville, NY, a housewife and longtime resident of the area, died June 29, 2004 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. She was 83.

The daughter of Arthur Amrein and Edna Heley Amrein and the stepdaughter of Molley Humphrey Amrein, she was born September 21, 1920 in Passaic, NJ. She was married to the late Clarence Blaut, Sr.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Yulan, NY.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence “Sailor” Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Barryville, Barry R. and his wife, Joan, of Barryville and Dale and his wife, Connie, of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Gertrude Schneider of Sarasota, FL; one stepbrother, Bill Humphrey; nine grandchildren, Kathleen, Bryan, Kristine, Cassie, Barry, Brandon, Keith, Karin and Stacie; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Kim, and a sister, Edna May Pharo.

Friends called on July 2 and 3 at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 3 at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Yulan, NY, with the Rev. Anthony Moore OFM officiating.

Interment was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Eldred, NY.

EILEEN O’CONNOR

PORT JERVIS, NY — Eileen O’Connor of Barryville, NY, a 34-year resident of the area, died July 1, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Place, Port Jervis. She was 97.

The daughter of the late John and Nora Murphy Lucey, she was born January 14, 1907 in County Kerry, Ireland.

She was the widow of James O’Connor who died October 27, 1995.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Church, Yulan.

Survivors include a daughter, Marge, of Port Jervis; a son, John, and his wife, Eleanor, of Allentown, NJ; six grandchildren, Dianna Mulcahey, James and Jeanne Mulcahey, Eileen, Erin and Kristin; three great-grandchildren, Meredith and Connor Mulcahey and Jordan; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a grandson, David Mulcahey.

Friends called on July 6 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis.

Funeral services were held later that day with a Mass of the Resurrection in St. Anthony’s of Padua Church, Yulan with the Rev. Anthony Moore officiating.

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Eldred.

CHARLES GALLAGHER

SCRANTON, PA — Charles Gallagher of Shohola, PA, died July 3, 2004 at Mary Rest Nursing Home, Scranton, PA. He was a carpenter for Empire State Carpenters Union, Local 11, Westchester County, NY. He was 38.

The son of Robert and Elizabeth Boyes Gallagher, he was born May 10, 1966 in New Brunswick, NJ. He was married to Christine Poillion-Gallagher.

He was a graduate of Delaware Valley High School, Class of 1985. He was a 22-year member of the Shohola Fire Department and a long time member of the Interior Attack Squad. He was a member of the Yulan Rod and Gun Club, Yulan, NY, and a life member of the N.R.A. He was an avid hunter and an accomplished bow hunter.

Survivors include his wife; his son, Robert Jake, at home; his father, Robert F. of Shohola; one brother, Robert G. of Lackawaxen, PA; two sisters, Jan Pannello of Lyndhurst, NY, and Elizabeth-Hermstedt of Cleminton, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends visited on July 7 at Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 8 at St. Ann’s Church, Shohola, PA with the Rev. Thomas Petro officiating.

Interment took place in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, PA.

ELIZABETH (BENDELE) HEGENBART

HAWLEY, PA — Elizabeth (Bendele) Hegenbart, a 15-year resident of Hawley, PA, and former resident of Ridgewood, NY, died July 1, 2004 at home. She was 74.

The daughter of the late John Bendele and Elise Schertzinger Bendele, she was born October 28, 1929 in Astoria, NY.

She was a homemaker and member of Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley; the Queen of Peace Altar and Rosary Society; Hawley Women’s Club; St. Mathias Altar and Rosary Society, Ridgewood, NY; and a 40-year member of Hilfsverein of the Brooklyn Boys and Girls Chorus.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Adolph Hegenbart, at home; a daughter, Jane Eyring of Hawley, PA; a granddaughter, Kimberly Eyring of Hawley, PA.

Friends visited on July 2 at Teeters’ East Chapel, Hawley, PA.

Funeral services were held on July 3 at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. William B. Healey, Pastor, officiating.

Interment was in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley, PA.

NORMA W. (WARFIELD) SEILER

WAYMART, PA — Norma W. (Warfield) Seiler, lifelong resident of Hawley, PA, died July 1, 2004 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA. She was 89.

The daughter of the late James S. Warfield and Laura E. Hall Warfield, she was born in Equinunk, PA.

She was a cafeteria worker for Wallenpaupack Area School District and belonged to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hawley. She was a member of the Willing Workers.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Russell R. Seiler.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Raught, of Hawley, PA, and a son, Gary R., of Tobyhanna, PA.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

ELAINE WANDA WINGLOVITZ

HOMOSASSA SPRINGS, FL — Elaine Wanda Winglovitz of Cochecton, NY, a retired bakery and deli manager at Peck’s Market in Callicoon, NY, died June 26, 2004 in Homosassa Springs, FL. She was 62.

The daughter of Karl and Mildred Dorman Gawenus, she was born December 31, 1941 in Flushing, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband Adolph “Sonny” Winglovitz in 1993.

She was a member of Cochecton Men’s Club and a former board member of the Delaware Community Center, Callicoon, NY.

Survivors include three sons, Gary and his wife, Amy, of Temecula, CA, Ross and his wife, Diane, of Middletown, NY and Craig of Cochecton, NY; one brother, Richard Gawenus and his wife, Ann, of Horseheads, NY; four grandchildren, Ross, Nicole, Avianna and Miles; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, Harold Pearce.

Friends called on July 1 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon, NY.

Funeral services were held on July 2 at the funeral home.

Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, PA.
