Kids camps explore art and theater
CALLICOON, NY Braman Arts Conservatory will expand its summer schedule and offer three summer arts camps to kids from five to 13.
Theatre Arts Intensive is a 10-day integrated arts camp for students age 13 to 17 that incorporates acting, masks, puppets and movement. It is a supportive, nurturing experience that emphasizes creative growth and process. There is no audition required and guest faculty will present workshops on various theatre and movement techniques. Director Richard Grunn, a PCA Roster artist, member of Actors Equity/SAG and recent recipient of the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts Fellowship in Theater, is also the new Media Arts instructor for Sullivan County BOCES. The camp is located at Sault Falls Inn, Braman, PA. The cost is $450, meals not included.
Summer Theatre Arts Day Camp is for kids ages seven to 12 and runs from July 19 to 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Mondays thru Fridays. Kids will make costumes and scenery while working towards performing in an original musical production that will be performed on July 31 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm. The camp costs $225. Registration is now thru June 30. Camp will be held at Sault Falls Inn. Snack is included. Campers bring their own lunch.
And finally, Braman Arts will offer a new camp this year, FUN Camp for Kids Morning Arts day camp for ages five and six from July 12 to 16 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. This introductory camp provides a gentle and nurturing morning activity for the younger child who isnt quite old enough to attend a full day camp. Campers will sing, paint, dance, make musical instruments and play theater games at Braman Arts Conservatory, Main Street. The camp costs $100.
