Accident on Gables Road

NARROWSBURG, NY — A Jeep Cherokee hit a tree and rolled on its side while traveling east on Gables Road on June 16.

The driver, Rebecca Kent, 30, of Lake Huntington, was taken to Grover Hermann Hospital by the Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Service and released after treatment. There were no other occupants in the car.

Kent swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting a very large van that had just made a delivery.

“When she saw us, she pulled over too fast, hit the tree and then rolled on her side,” said the truck’s driver. The truck had the name “USACO” on it and was from Randolph, MA.

The Narrowsburg Fire Department and the Lava Volunteer Fire Company also responded to the 11:30 a.m. accident scene.
