Drawings under study

NARROWSBURG, NY — “Drawings: Form, Content, Materials,” an exhibit curated by Phyllis Bilick of Callicoon, NY, will open on Friday, July 9 at the Delaware Arts Center Loft Gallery, 37 Main Street, with a reception for the artists from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Bilick has selected a diverse range of styles and mediums that all fall under the category of drawing. The show features the work of Barbara Buckman, Richard Gubernick, Brian Conley, Phyllis Bilick, Douglas Craft, Elizabeth Harms, Brandi Merolla, Gelah Penn, Barbara Press and Linda Sokolowski.

“By definition, drawing is making lines with pen, brush or stylus to delineate, sketch or diagram, hence, to describe,” said Bilick. “As far back as the Stone Age artists were drawing on cave walls to represent the world as they saw it.”

The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance is sponsoring the show that runs through August 27. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information call 845/252-7576.
