Gyetrai and Smith receive nursing scholarships

HONESDALE, PA — Area students, Angel Lynn Gyetrai and Chelsa Smith are recipients of the 2004 Nursing Scholarships awarded by the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. The scholarships are memorial grants designed to help students pursue nursing careers while honoring the memory of those who set them up.

Gyetrai of Sterling, a senior and honor roll student at Wallenpaupack Area High School, was awarded the Victoria T. Robinson Scholarship for $1,000. Gyetrai is presently employed as a cashier at the IGA.

Smith, a senior at Honesdale High School, was awarded the Ernest and Margaret Lemnitzer Scholarship for $3,300. She works at Wayne Memorial as a nurse’s assistant and has served as a volunteer in the cast care and emergency departments. She is the daughter of Brian and Amy Smith, Milanville, and will be attending Bloomsburg University.
