Dance company performs ‘The Sleeping Beauty’

PORT JERVIS, NY — The Delaware Valley Dance Company will perform the classic ballet, “The Sleeping Beauty” on June 12 and 13 at Port Jervis High School. There will be a 12:00 noon matinee and a 7:00 p.m. performance on Saturday, June 12 and a 2:00 p.m. performance on Sunday, June 13.

“The Sleeping Beauty,” with music by Tchaikovsky and choreograpy by Petipa, was first performed in Russia in 1890 and is considered to be the pinnacle of classical ballet. The Delaware Valley Dance Company will perform the original choreography, giving audiences a chance to experience the beauty and genius that has been passed down through the generations.
