Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop opens season

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop will open its 2004 Season with “Basically Broadway: A Musical Revue” on May 22 and 23. Directed by Bunny Woloszczak, with Musical Director Lucille Horton, the program will feature many memorable melodies from the Broadway stage performed by a wonderfully talented cast of local singers.

The Workshop, the area’s longest standing community theatre company, will stage six productions in the air-conditioned Nartoff-Wells Auditorium of the Rivoli Theatre. The second production will be Neil Simon’s classic comedy, “Barefoot in the Park,” directed by Constance Slater, on June 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20. And Simon’s comedy-drama, “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” directed by Lori Schneider-Wendt hits the boards July 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25.

D.L. Coburn’s Pulitzer Prize winning tragi-comedy, “The Gin Game,” directed by Seth Kleinman, will be staged on August 14, 14, 20, 21 and 22. Susan Sandler’s romantic comedy, “Crossing Delancey” will be directed by Eileen Slater on September 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 and the season will be rounded out by Frederick Knott’s suspenseful mystery drama, “Wait Until Dark” on October 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10.

Season tickets for all six shows costs $75, $60 for seniors and students 16 and under. Individual tickets cost $15, $12 for seniors and students 16 and under.
