The view of the bridge

MINISINK FORD, NY — Not that he hasn’t got yard work to do at home, but Robert Grab of Barryville said he still finds time to come out each year for the volunteer cleanup day at the Roebling Bridge.

Assistant National Park Service Superintendent Sandra Schultz said Grab was one of about a dozen volunteers working at any one time last Friday during the annual cleanup day for the trail running beneath the New York side of the bridge. “They come and go. It’s difficult to put a number on them.”

Schultz said volunteers and NPS staff concentrated on the brush cluttering the view from New York parking lot during the April 30 work day.
