Looking Glass reflects Watres work
HAWLEY, PA The Looking Glass Gallery and the Lacawac Sanctuary will present Arthur WatresA Retrospect, an exhibit of whimsical drawings and naturalist watercolors completed throughout the artists lifetime. The show will celebrate Watres contributions to the northeastern PA community, which include the creation of Lacawac Sanctuary.
An opening reception for this tribute will take place Saturday, May 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and the show will continue through May 20. Prints and a catalog will be available for sale.
Lacawac Sanctuary, a once neglected family estate built around a pristine glacial lake in northeastern PA, now serves as a sanctuary for conservation and environmental education. A Yale alumni, Watres received the William T. Hornaday Gold Medal for Distinguished Service for Natural Resource Conservation, one of the highest honors presented by the Boy Scouts of America.
All the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Lacawac Sanctuary. For more information call 570/226-0782.
