Lorin opens Jazzfest at Tusten

NARROWSBURG, NY — Jazz vocalist Martha Lorin and the Russ Kassoff Trio will open the 14th Annual Jazzfest at Tusten, a series of three concerts sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and held at the Tusten Theatre during the month of May.

Ms. Lorin and the Trio will appear on Saturday, May 8 at 8:00 p.m. Dave’s True Story will perform on May 22 and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra will play on May 29.

“It took the stylish and sensuous velvet voiced chanteuse only eight bars of Cole Porter’s ‘I Love Paris,’ for this reviewer...to be smitten,” said Peter Leavy of Cabaret Scenes about Lorin’s performance at Danny’s Skylight Room.

A singer, songwriter and lyricist, Lorin has worked with legendary musicians, including Frank Collett, known for his work with the Shelly Manne Trio as Sarah Vaughn’s musical director. Her program at Tusten will include “Coney Island,” one of her collaborations with Frank Collett.

Jazzfest at Tusten continues the tradition of presenting live jazz concerts since the renovation and reopening of the Tusten Theatre in 1990. For more information call Elaine Giguere at 845-252-7576.
