Garage fire threatens home

BARRYVILLE, NY — Yulan firefighters are pictured Monday evening as they extinguished a garage fire at the Route 55 home of Charles Wolff.

There were no injuries, but the fire melted the siding on the adjoining Wolff home before firefighters extinguished the 8:56 p.m. blaze. Two cars and a snowmobile were destroyed in the fire and two other snowmobiles in an adjoining shed sustained heat damage.

Yulan Chief Daryl Barnes said county fire determiners would be called as there was no apparent cause for the fire. Highland Lake and Lumberland firefighters assisted at the scene.
