Music for string quartet and voice

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — Chamber Music at St. Andrew’s will present a free concert with the Ecliptica String Quartet on Saturday, April 24 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 5277 State Route 42.

Performers include mezzo-soprano Laila Maria Salins, violinists Eriko Sato and Sarah Geller, violist Veronica Salas and cellist Lutz Rath.

Program:

Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1767): “Salve Regina” for voice and string quartet.

Victoria Bond (b. 1950): “Molly Manybloom” with Salins and string quartet with text from James Joyce’s “Ulysses.”

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937): String Quartet in F major (his only string quartet).

Although the performance is free, tickets may be picked up in advance the day of the concert from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. or at 7:30 p.m. at the door. Each person may pick up two tickets. For more information call 845/292-8967.

Chamber Music at St. Andrews offers occasional free chamber concerts, performed by outstanding musicians.
